This was a great cardiovascular workout I did in the stairwell of a quiet 6-storey apartment building. I think a 8-storey building would have been more challenging, but still, this workout got me huffing and puffing.
Steps are a super-efficient cardio tool that almost everybody has easy access to, yet few utilize. If you know a place or a building where you can use a large flight of stairs without being disturbed, here is a routine idea to put them to good use!
I recommend listening to a motivating playlist while performing any stair workout because walking up and down can feel monotonous (but in my view, it’s still way more fun than running on a flat surface!).
I climbed and descended for around 30 minutes, working my legs, butt and core in the process. By varying your speed and direction, you’ll crank up that calorie burn and feel it in your glutes the day after.
Here’s the workout (I apologize for the terrible animated gifs and hope you don’t suffer from epilepsy):
If you have a bit of space, finishing off your glutes with a few sets of walking lunges in the parking lot!
